מַעֲשֵׂר שֵׁנִי, אֵין מוֹכְרִין אוֹתוֹ, וְאֵין מְמַשְׁכְּנִין אוֹתוֹ, וְאֵין מַחֲלִיפִין אוֹתוֹ, וְלֹא שׁוֹקְלִין כְּנֶּגְדּוֹ. וְלֹא יֹאמַר אָדָם לַחֲבֵרוֹ בִּירוּשָׁלַיִם, הֵילָךְ יַיִן וְתֶן לִי שָׁמֶן. וְכֵן שְׁאָר כָּל הַפֵּרוֹת. אֲבָל נוֹתְנִין זֶה לָזֶה מַתְּנַת חִנָּם:

Ma'aser Sheni [segundo diezmo, que se debe comer en Jerusalén]: no se puede vender, ni se puede empeñar, ni se puede intercambiar, y no se puede pesar. Un hombre no debe decirle a su amigo en Jerusalén: "Aquí hay vino y dame aceite". Esto también se aplica a todas las demás frutas. Pero uno puede dárselo a otro como un regalo gratis.
